PRODUCT STANDARDS

Standards specify various requirements which products should meet when compliance is stated. The requirements for PPE relate generally to construction and performance.

Note:

• A knowledge of standards should help users in selecting an appropriate product.
• The standard number should be clearly marked on each product.
• Compliance with a standard will not always be supported by a product certification mark.

CERTIFICATION MARKS (independent of product standards)

CE Mark

Within the European Union and European Economic Area, this is the minimum legal requirement and demonstrates compliance with the Personal Protective Equipment Directive. Compliance with national or European standards is not mandatory.
