HAND PROTECTION TESTING

Hand Protection

Testing of hand protection can be performed to a comprehensive range of European, Australian and American Standards. The following list of standards is not exhaustive, but does give an indication of some of INSPEC's testing capabilities:

EN420 : 2003 Protective gloves – General requirements

This is the “basic” standard for gloves and we can cover all of the requirements.

EN374-1 : 2003 Gloves against chemicals and micro-organisms General requirements

We can perform all tests, including the full list of chemicals in annex A.

EN374-2 : 2003 Resistance to penetration

We can perform both specified test methods.

EN374-3 : 2003 Resistance to permeation

We can conduct tests for organic liquids (by GC), inorganic solutions (by conductivity), and gases.

We can conduct testing to all of the listed chemicals from annex A and many others not specified, depending on their chemistry.

We are investigating additional equipment and methods to expand the scope of this testing and have undertaken several “bespoke” contracts using this equipment and the expertise behind it.

EN388 : 2003 Gloves against mechanical risks

We can undertake the four mechanical tests specified: abrasion resistance, cut resistance, tear resistance and puncture resistance.

Other standards

A full range of sub-contract testing is available covering heat, cold, fire, welding, electrical etc. Example standards are EN407, EN421, EN511, EN659 and EN60903.

If you require testing to a standard not listed above, please contact us as our scope of testing is regularly expanded.

In addition to the testing performed against published standards, we can offer limited or experimental testing tailored to your own bespoke specifications or methods.

We look forward to being of service to you.
