INSPEC Certification Services was set up in anticipation of the European Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Directive. We are based in Salford, near Manchester, in the north of England and provide an independent third party certification service for manufacturers and distributors of PPE and other related products.

We are a Notified Body (number 0194) under the PPE Directive and can therefore process applications for CE Marking your PPE products.

We are also notified for Module B - type-examination - of the Marine Equipment Directive and Module D - quality assurance. The scope of notification is Personal Protective Equipment as listed in Annex A of the directive.

We have operating agreements with SEI (USA) and BTTG (UK). We are always looking to establish further agreements.

We cover ALL TYPES of PPE, including eye, head, hearing, respiratory protective and fall arrest devices, gloves, shoes and clothing.

We use only officially recognised, independent laboratories for the necessary testing.

In addition to CE marking PPE, we also offer:-

• Quality Management System Certification to ISO 9000

Products and processes covered by ISO 9000 include PPE (obviously), rubber and plastics moulding, leather and fabric products, eyewear, light engineering and similar operations.
